Henna'd my hair. It's pretty cute. Check it out!
I'm glad it turned out well, because I would hate to have pimped henna to all of my friends (why do all women want to be redheads? oh yeah because it's awesome) and then find out either it doesn't work well or I hated doing it. It was certainly a pain in the butt. I ended up putting about two pounds of henna goop on my head, and left it there for four hours. I was only going to leave it there for two, but then Sarah called me and was like "are we still going to the honey store today?" So I had to hurry up and put something over my plastic-wrapped head so we could get there before they closed. I ended up looking surprisingly decent for someone who just grabbed an old scrap of red lining fabric out of her sewing box and folded it into an oversize bandana. Maybe nobody said anything because it looked like I had cancer.
But anyway, we went to the honey store today and while she ended up not getting anything, I'm really happy because the actual storefront the local beekeepers have (as opposed to their booth at the farmer's market) carries honey sticks that are real varietal honey and not just clover honey that has flavoring in it. Ten different kinds! I also bought another honey-bear of the cranberry honey that they make when their bees go pollinate the cranberry bogs in Wisconsin. :D
What else have I been up to lately...oh, I went to the karaoke bar with Oni's cousins last night! Apparently there's this karaoke bar about halfway between my apartment and work, and I didn't know about it. Then again, I don't go out to bars too often. But yeah, it was pretty awesome, very 'tiny corner bar' feel, especially since one of the people I was there with was pretty much a regular. That always helps when you're hanging out at a new place. I was too slow to get a song in the list before it got too close to closing time, though, that made me sad. Next time I'll have to figure out wtf I want to SING faster. XD
