'Sup, everybody. Yes, this is a post that is not a meme. (Of course, me beginning actual content-filled posts with "wow, this isn't a meme" is becoming a personal meme of its own...)
So I got a new job! I'll be taking customer service calls for AT&T---and I can say that for sure now. I interviewed for AT&T, but for a while there in the hiring process, I wasn't sure what company I'd actually be taking calls for, as my employer is not the cell phone company themselves but the incredibly massive call center company that probably owns half of Omaha. So yeah, nothing terribly fancy, but it's full time, it's only a couple miles away so I can bicycle to work if I wanted, and by sheer luck of the draw I ended up with a shift that works around the one class I have to take in the fall. Seriously, I got the call back today from HR asking if I wanted to start training on Monday and work for some company I can't recall, or start the Monday after that and take calls for AT&T like they said. The one catch was that there was only one shift available on the AT&T group, so I was like "well, what is it?" "10:30-7." "Oh wow, this completely saves me from having to try and schedule around the class I'll be starting in the fall."
I suppose I'll have to actually REGISTER for that class now. But I think all I need to do is zip an email to my advisor going "Sorry, sir, since I took this semester off, I clean forgot when registration was. Can you give me a pass to sign up for biochem?" I'm not worried about the class filling, since there are always inexplicably more seats in the lecture (which I need to repeat) than there are in the lab (which I've already passed). Basically I just need a little time to come up with an email that makes me sound the least like a fuckup. Not that they didn't know that already.
Anyway, now that I start work on 24 May rather than 17 May, I've got TWO weeks off to party. Or clean my apartment so it doesn't resemble a disaster zone. But I'm thinking party. I went out with Mom yesterday because I told her I'd take her to the salon for her Mother's Day present. It was pretty awesome, Mom got her hair dyed the auburn color she usually dyes it, only now it looks all shiny and professional-like. Now I kind of want to get the same just-past-shoulder-length sort of bob she ended up with, and a straight iron so I can keep it looking all sleek n' stuff like the stylist did. I'm not sure if it would look as good on me though. I think it's one of those styles that works on anyone, but my face is significantly longer and beakier than Mom's. Besides, I can't go to the salon any time soon anyway because I have to, IDK, save money for the two weeks I've spent between jobs.
Ah well, I should probably go eat something. A glass of grape juice is not a sufficient dinner, even if it was delicious and fresh-squeezed. I heart my juicer. XD
