Set out with much to do but this is all I have done so far
I didn't subsitute today because I had much to do.....well, this is all that i have done so far. I will take my physics test though around 2:00. Then off to open the weight room for the kids, work out and then hit some tennis balls. I do need to fit in the tanner though, or as my sister calls it "light therapy". She does go to the tanner to help her get through the winter. But she calls everything therapy because she thinks she can just because she is a recreational therapist. But after working with the kids she works with I would be calling anything therapy too. Taking out the garbage could be therapy.
So I must fake n' bake even though I hate to. The days are counting down and I will be off to the DR in 3 weeks. YES, I said 3. Yahoo!! One week until my surgery. Boo. Oh well, I will have much to look forward to.
I have my placement for the DR. I will be teaching history at the International School of Santo Domingo. Great school that is unique because students can get their Bachalorate there and it is recognized world wide. Teaching history of what is the biggest question. They don't use textbooks so that will make it really interesting.
Learned a little dominican dance and a lot about their culture at our orientation on Saturday. That was really cool. Most importantly we learned about all the safety stuff. Boil it, cook it, peel it or don't eat it. Thats about all you have to know. It will take some getting use to not being able to go over to the faucet and drink the water or even brush my teeth.
So this weekend I learned a lot about the DR, won some money and watch Nate and Dan eat 1 1/4 pounds of pretzels. That was one awesome time.
