So that was 2011
2011 has been a strange year!
The pluses have been:
+ Meeting Finn, and the start of a new relationship
+ My cats, which are always amusing and good company for when I am feeling lonely
+ Friends, especially jpgsawyer, edith_hedingham, Alaric, Nerissa, purplemermaid, ormsweird, richardrampant, Lena, lewis_p_bear and djelibeybi_meg, and (very ironically) Kevin and his new girlfriend, Elizabeth
+ A trip to Australia for Christams
+ Colleagues/friends at the SAe meetings, and also fun trips at the end of the meetings with colleagues Ed and others
+ Being asked to give a speech at the WISE awards at the IET in London
+ A colleague thanking me for making it a good evening for his wife when I acted as host for one of the tables at the long-service dinner
+ The silly cartoons a colleague has left on my desk when I've been away travelling for me to find when I've come back to work
+ Richard's birthday party in Wales
Minuses:
- Being on my own again
- Trying to do (and fail at) two jobs all year
- The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which only seems to get worse, and, at times, makes even the simplest task seem too difficult!
- The worry over friends who have been seriously ill during the year
- The 3 day delay in getting back from a trip to Baltimore in June, and being stuck in a grotty, cold, dirty hotel just outside Boston
- The worry over fainting on long haul flights several times (but I think I've solved this one by not taking my blood pressures meds before the flight!)
- Putting on far too much weight so nothing seems to fit any more.
