The Chicago Art Institute was a delight-seeing so many famous and iconic paintings was amazing. As a bonus, there was an exhibit on the picture book art of Chris Raschka! So fun.
In preparation for the SCBWI conference in LA, I read Katherine Applegate’s HOME OF THE BRAVE. It is a sensitive and delicate novel in verse portraying the resettlement of a Sudanese teen refugee in Minnesota.
Wow. Just wow! Now I really can’t wait to hear Applegate speak in L. A.
