New house has vague internet, yay. It's a quarter past four in the morning and I've hijacked my brother's room (and his laptop, he has all the cool stuff) and have been catching up on my LJ friendlist. Next up, DW KakaSaku. Woo. *so tttiiirreeedd*
I applied at Wal-Mart yesterday - actually, no, two days ago now, since it's technically Saturday. Wish me luck and/or send me good juju.
I would greatly appreciate the help of a beta on a fic I'm plotting for SyFy's Alice. Anyone interested? Anyone know anyone who might be interested? Send 'em my way, please. Alice is a new fandom for me, and this project is pretty big, so I'm a bit scared.
I desperately need to catch up on Naruto (so many weeks behind, ugh) and perhaps watch a bit of Cowboy Bepop? Depending on how long I can keep my brother forgetful of the fact that I'm in possession of his laptop, that is...
Speaking of my brother, he's leaving in a month or so for Navy boot camp. And then A-school, for nuclear power, because he's got a genius IQ and got a nearly perfect score on his ASVAB tests, and we don't expect to see him for roughly six to eight years, leave notwithstanding. It's depressing, and yet I'm so excited for him. This is an amazing opportunity for him, and I'm so proud of him for joining the armed forces, but still. This is the boy whose mind I have literally read (someone remind me later and I'll tell you the story). We've been together literally as long as I can remember. I honestly cannot remember a time when this boy wasn't part of my life. He was my first best friend, my first worst enemy, I've defended him from bullies, he's defended me from bullies, we've been each other's bullies, we grew up together. Even though recently we've started to grow apart, he's still my brother and I'm going to miss him like crazy. His going-away party is in a few weeks, and I have the feeling I'm going to be crying.
