When it rains...it pours.
My thoughts were "Wow, it's sprinkling slightly outside. A perfect time for a peaceful nap."
How wrong I was.
The rain came to attack us once again. My mom had to frantically move my car to stop it from flooding AGAIN.
The pouring begins and my mom calls for my help because the water is starting to come into the house.
While I moved the stuff near the door, my mom went to find the city people who are supposed to be clearing the drains. I get the stuff moved, but then notice the water nearing my car again. I put on my trusty raincoat and waded ankle high into the water to get my car. Which was good considering mom had to wade in shin high water to rescue it the first time.
The city people came and unclogged the drain. The water slowly left. I raised the garage and buckets of water were released.
Mom and I drove over to the house on the other side of the ditch to talk to the men unclogging the drain. Mom complains about the flooding and they try to fix the problem.
I sit in the car listening to music. I attempt to de-fog the windows. All of a sudden I start to smell something funny. I look around confused and out of nowhere smoke starts coming in the car through the air vents. I looked shocked and a few seconds later my mom runs to the car and yells "GET OUT OF THE CAR!"
Turns out the car is smoking. One of the men randomly said to my mom, "Hey is that your car? It's on fire." My mom was like ahhh my daughter is in there. I couldn't hear her yelling at me because of the music and I couldn't see the smoke from the outside because the windows were fogged.
Thank goodness the car wasn't actually on fire, but just overheated...we think. We aren't exactly what is wrong with it, but smoking can never be good.
Fun times with the dysfunctional Stewart family.
