What a week....
Sunday was the church picnic at Sherwood Lake. We had a really good time; I even went swimming with the kids! The Voices of Victory (our youth performance group) did two songs: Revival & Potter's Hands... the the kids that were there were the Davises, Julie & Brandon, and of course Penny & I performed with them. One of the Davis kids (did I mention that they're my cousins by marriage?) lost his new glasses when they turned their canoe over.
Sometime Sunday Julie's mom died; they're burying her tomorrow. Jenna Sue was one of the wee ones in the church nursery when I was a teenager. She's had a lot of problems; I wonder if she overdosed on purpose....
And tonight we got a call telling us that the Davis' house was on fire. Apparently two of the kids (there are 4 of them) were at church, two were at home, mom was at work, their dad died last spring. Those poor kids lost everything in the fire. They have been through so much. I just have this feeling that God has something in mind for them; maybe this is the way that they can have a fresh start...
I've been working on a new animation: a little dragon. He's almost finished; just one more set of wings and maybe a tail. I'm not sure if he needs a tail...
I'm a bit sleepy... guess I'll hit the sack soon.
