My mother gave me a bottle of Brickstone Cellars Extra Dry American Champagne. She had asked me to pick up a case for her from Total Wine. Even though they label it Extra Dry, it's a little bit sweet. And it has a slightly fuller body than the other sparkling wines I've had. Also, a slighty fruitiness. A single bottle at TW is <$10.
Champagne, Cava, Prosecco, all seem to me to be mediocre wines with bubbles as a gimmick. Now, I enjoy the bubbles, I just don't particularly buy the hype. I've had Veuve Clicquot and it just wasn't worth the price.
