So, about food...

Back on the Weight Watchers wagon after the holidays. I haven't gained any during the evil month, thanks to the treadmill at the gym. I'm not as stringent when I've been to the gym and I'm taking calorie staggering info into account, too, so I guess what I'm doing is really Modified Weight Watchers.

I'm, also, trying to get in the Calorie Restriction habit. And it's hard. I have 48 years of eating to fullness and stopping before I get to that point isn't intuitive. I have to think about it and plan for it, if I'm not going to be at home, where portions are easier to manage.

Fortunately, Chuck is as much interested in practicing CR as I am.

We are getting in the habit, when there are only 2 of us, of getting appetizers and salads rather than entrees for our meals, or sharing A salad and AN appetizer and AN entree. I suspect that waiters think we're being stingy, but that really isn't the case. I hate having leftovers spoiling in my refrigerator and if we only order those portions, we are less likely to overeat.

So, if you go out for dinner with us and we seem to be eating less, don't fret. We aren't trying to save money or deny ourselves. We're just making a conscious choice to have a smaller portion than we used to. We still eat really tasty stuff.

health, food
