Summary: Stan and company are enlisted to show some outsiders what American wizardy is all about.

“No,” Stan said. “Absolutely not. It’s a security breach. A huge one. We’ve already been exposed thanks to those books…and the movies!”
“That wasn’t our jurisdiction - the Ministry of Magic approved it.”
Stan sighed and shook his head. “And now we’re supposed to get into this too?”
Allison shook her head in the fireplace and the green flames sparked slightly. “I know. I understand your concerns completely. In fact, I share them. But, then again, this isn’t my call either.”
“Please tell me it’s not coming from where I think it is…”
“Bureau of Muggle Relations? Of course. Honestly, they want this to go more smoothly than it did in Britain…” Allison told him.
“Oh, see, I know how we could’ve done that - not okay the idea for Rowling to publish the first novel!” Stan shouted.
“Stan! Everyone at the Magical Congress - and probably several people at the Ministry of Magic - knows how you feel about letting Rowling write about Potter, but honestly, what was everyone supposed to do? The Ministry of Magic felt it was better if we were the ones controlling the information, which is why Rowling was commissioned to write Potter’s story. It was bound to come out eventually, especially given everything that happened during the years Voldemort was on the rise again. At the moment, the Muggles still believe what Rowling wrote was fiction. But with how successful she was, all her Muggle fans are clamoring for more. It’s been decided that she’ll come over here and work with us for a while - work up a few ideas and write a few stories about American wizards,” Allison explained.
“I still think this is a terrible idea,” Stan argued. “And why am I involved in this? The Department of Secret Keepers is the last place you’d want her to write about!”
“Oh God no! She’s not coming to you! You’re going to her! Here in Salem!” Allison assured him.
Stan relaxed slightly. “Just me?”
“No. I think you should bring Mary and Marshall with you. It should make for an interesting view of the American wizarding world,” Allison said. “Don’t worry. I don’t have any plans to reveal what the Department of Secret Keepers does. Honestly, they’re mostly looking for an American twist on Death Eaters and what we did while Voldemort was on the rise in Britain.”
“Alright,” Stan said, relenting. “When do you want us to do this?”
“Do you have any pressing matters in the office right now?”
“Everything’s quiet.”
“Good. I’ll schedule it with the Brits. You, Mary, and Marshall should come tomorrow. We can get working with some other departments on what we’d like to discuss with them before they get here,” Allison said.
“Alright. We’ll be in tomorrow.”
“Oh, and Stan?”
“Yeah?”
“Potter’s going to be there too.”
“WHAT?!”
“See you tomorrow!” Allison disappeared from the fire, leaving Stan to stare in shock at his fireplace.
No good could come of this. None at all.
