Today as I was walking back to the dormy after games a breathless second -former came up to me. It was Alice George, I vaguely remembered seeing her around when we were preparing for the play.

'Hallo Mary-Lou!' she said excitedly, then she seemed to run out of breath and she blushed.

'Hello, Alice,' I said 'Are you alright?' At this she looked delighted and began to stammer something unintelligible. She then started to tell me how she ejoyed the play. 'I helped with the making of your dress, you know,' she said 'I thought you looked so beautiful in it. I started to reply but then she muttered something about having prep to do and ran off again, as she went I saw Daphne coming towards me.

It was nowhere near time for prep. These second formers can be so queer at times. I wonder what she wanted?

At least Daphne is looking happier now, although she has been quite short with Bill today.
