I just realized I never really made an 'official' post about this. NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month. Basically, you write 50K (or more!) in 30 days. It's something I really think everyone should do, not enough of us write or at least give themselves enough of a chance to use their imagination. NaNoWriMo is the perfect opportunity for anyone interested to do just that! The goal is simple, just write. You don't have to be a professional writer or anything, this is just for you. There's no room for editing or anything - just do it! Think Nike. :D
I'm actually really happy where my 'novel' is going right now. Today marks the halfway point and I should have about 25K written...yeah, no. I'm about oh, 7k off I think, but it doesn't matter. One caffeine fueled evening will definitely inspire me and I'll pump out twice the amount, probably.

I'm at a state of peace write now about things overall - sure I'm not where I thought I'd be academically, job-wise, financially, etc. (amazing how our futures like to take a tangent in a direction we never anticipate) but I'd like to think that my 'novel' and NaNoWriMo gives me an opportunity to achieve something fun and rewarding that I'd normally never get a chance to plan to do myself.
So - to all those novelists and would-be novelists out there, good luck! I hope your imagination runs wild and free and you just have a lot of fun with what you're doing. I know I am!
