2021!!

We made it. 2021.

*Shrugs.*
Sure, it's only the fifth day of the new year, but honestly, so far so good. 2020, by all accounts, was a dumpster fire, but weirdly for me, 2020 was a good year. Sure, I lost my job, but spending like four months at home with my kids in the summer was awesome. I made a lot of art during that time. I played a lot with my kids. And, I did get a new job where I get to work at home with a very flexible schedule.
I'm happier than I've been in a long time.
Last night, I had my first school board meeting as a member of the board. It was mostly committee assignments. I got on the the one committee I wanted the most: the curriculum committee. Of course, I'm on a lot of committees because that's the nature of it. Still, I'm excited for the first year of my term on the school board.
I'm less than 10,000 words away from the first draft of my stand-alone novel. Once I get that done, I'll focus on Freaks N Squeaks again. I've written 6 FNS strips and I've done sketches on three of them.
And... there might be something to say soon about a graphic novel that was finished last year.
So, 2020 was good and I think 2021 will be even better.
