Jubilee, as assigned on the
Strike Team, and thus has three hours to prepare. There might be those that would take this time to get in extra training, but not her. For her, since her mutant ability does take a lot of her energy, Jubilee takes this time to relax for a while. After changing into her mission outfit, she sets her watch to set off an

Her eyes wander down to the hidden magazine behind the comic book cover. She had been reading an article that advised young adults like herself on how to be taken more seriously.
Then she looked back at him, shrugging softly. "I heard that if you wanted to be showed respect, you should show respect." It was one of the things that was mentioned in the article she was reading.
Then she tried to divert attention to another topic, "Did you hear about the mission that is being organized?"
It wasn't that she did not want to talk about her current situation to someone, it was just she was not sure who would give her an open, honest conversation. She wanted someone that would take her seriously.

He shrugs a bit. "But yeah, I heard about the big fight. Nate called me about it, so I got here as soon as I could."
Hasn't decided whether he's going along or gonna try to talk them out of it.

"It is good that you are here. From the sounds of things, we are going to need all the help we can." Her eyes twinkle a bit when she looks at him, "And where ever you decide to help, I just know with your abilities, it would help. A lot."

"Jubilee, I work with the FBI now. And you're about to attack an American military base."
Still hasn't decided...

In standing, she had dropped the magzine, its edge peaked out from the comic cover she had been using.

"Let's hope the rest of them see it that way, too."
He pats her arm a little bit in thanks, before starting to head toward the manor.
"By the way, hasn't this school taught you not to go looking at cheap magazines for advice?" he says, smiling back to her.

"What's the problem? The standard teenage desire to be thought of as an adult? You should enjoy your youth while you can."

"I guess it is a disadvantage of growing up here. As much as the advantage of having some really loyal friends who would kick some major butt to save your hide. Most of them still see me as that thirteen year old run-away. I graduated from my classes, I even lead some Generation-X mission, and yet I still am called a kid. It is especially irritating when I see Paige, Monet and Siyrn treated more like adults than I am."
In a quiet voice, "When I see guys around the school appreciate their beauty and intelligence. And never spare a second glance for me. We are basically the same age. They have had guys ask them out on dates and the like, and I... feel like that wall flower that ain't ever noticed."
Than in her normal voice, "And maybe it is partly my fault. Playing the role as the sugar-high kid. But, I just have wanted more. That is why I asked Scott to be a student adviser, help out the students, since they can relate to me better. He trusted me with the position, which is great. Since I do not want to settle of being the kid of the group anymore, Bishop. I have played that role. I think that I deserve a little more respect from my peers..."
She suddenly realizes that she had rambled, and nervously blushes. "But I betcha confession of a nineteen year old were not something you were expecting today."

He ponders her rant for a moment.
"First thing you have to know is that old people are always gonna call you kid. It's one of the few good things about being old. Especially someone like Cable, who never had a childhood to begin with. Second thing - never whine about being treated like a kid. That only gets you more of it. You'll get old soon enough, then you'll wish for the days people called you kid. Don't rush it."
He smiles slightly. "Ambition is good, but don't get obsessed with it."

"And there are some people I don't mind calling me kid, people I like." she sort of playfully bumps her shoulder into him, and winks. "like you... and Logan. As for Cable, do not tell him this... but I feel sorry that he did not have a childhood. Maybe he would not be such a jerk if he had one... who knows?"
"I will work on that whining thing, didn't know that I was doing it. I guess all these changes can be too much sometimes. I will watch what I say. Just let things happen as they will." she suddenly laughs, and then playfully says, "But that don't mean that I can not want some guy to look at me like a woman, instead of a kid. You know it would be awfully nice to be flirted with. Who knows, maybe I can be the one who flirts first. Maybe catch some handsome guy by surprise." she winks again, and her eyes twinkle.

"People never notice they're whining when they're whining. Part of the problem."
He shakes his head.
"Don't worry about the boys. Eventually they realize the tomboys are hotter than the girlie-girls. Just not when they're this age."

"I am going to have to cut back on my sugar." she says, as she pops a piece of bubblegum in her mouth. She chews softly, and playfully explodes a bubble with her tongue. "So... as much as I hate to remind you of the impeding headache coming your way... who were you looking for?"

Now he's feeling old.
"I'm just here to talk to Cable before this all goes down."
Reply
"Last I heard, Cable had himself assigned on the Noise team, so he should still be in the briefing room." she starts to politely escort him the way. "He was going to have a mission briefing with the stealth team, but those guys were supposed to leave ASAP. Maybe you will be lucky and be just in the nick of time."
She reaches to door of the War Room, and then pivots to face Bishop. "Well, here we are. If you need a head ache cure after your talk, come find me, at the very least I can offer you a Twinkie or try to make you smile. Even if it is just a Bishop smile."
"And unless there is anything else you need. I will catch you later..." she winks, "...Dude."
