Cassie didn't know exactly how long she'd been gone but she knew it was long enough that she was going to really get it when she got home. There was little hope that her father hadn't noticed her absence by now.

She really wished she could come up with a good excuse for where she'd been and how she'd got out of the house but she doubted any of her (former?) team mates would back her up, even Kate.

She didn't even have a really bad excuse by the time they got to her front door.
