Sofia went behind the bar to see what she could drink. She was frowning. "And sometimes I forget why most people hate you." Straight away she went to mixing several drinks together with the skill that only comes from practice.
"Yeah, I know." He held up a bottle of cheap gin. "I'm an acquired taste." He grinned a bit.
"But tonight's a good night. Good booze..." he glanced at the bottle of cheap gin, and set it aside. "Well, mostly. Good company... and the Young Avengers too, but no reason to let them ruin a fun night.
"I just want to enjoy myself." Cause in a number of weeks, this would all be taken away from him. But while he still had it, he was totally going to cherish every moment (screw you Hallmark) live it up while he could.
Sofia shook her head at the acquired taste comment. "I don't think that's a good thing."
Satisfied with her mixed drink she took a gulp. It had been some time since she last consumed alcohol and if Julian's actions were any indication she would need to get at least a little tipsy to get through the night.
"I'm from Venezuela, it's not that hard to drink alcohol there as it is here." Sofia took another drink and by her smile she wasn't going to volunteer any more information.
"Parties aren't that different from each other. I don't have that many."
Though there was that time her youngest cousin stole her drink during her quinceañera and tried dancing with one of her best friends. Poor Juan never stopped getting teased for that.
"But I'd still like to hear 'em." She was a very sweet girl, and he liked her for that. But there was something behind that sweet exterior of hers that he'd been dying to see more of.

He watched her carefully. She had done this before.
"I was trying to be nice. Not my fault people are so sensitive about things."

"Relax a bit, and everything'll be fine."

He took another shot of scotch, and decided to change the subject a little.
"You seem to know what you're doing behind back here. Who taught you how to handle drinks?"

"So what would it take to get you to tell me?"

"Outdrink me."
Besides, she'd love to see him do all sorts of stupid things while drunk.

He really liked that about her.
"You're on, beautiful."
