A monk. In Manhattan.

A twelve year old orphan mutant monk. In Manhattan. That may or may not be linked with the Young Avengers.

The hell?Julian was having a hard time trying to wrap his mind around this. And around the fact that he was apparently supposed to find the kid and bring him back to the school. At least, that's what he thought Miss ( Read more... )

Catseye grunts in surprise as she misses her strike, passing clean through her target with no bloodshed. She falters the landing and somersaults, jumping to her feet just as Santo comes barelling down the alley. This, at least, is familiar...and the rocky youth isn't nearly as fast or impressive as Rhino. He fills most of the free space between the walls, making dodging a tricky proposition at best, so the Catseye simply goes up, leaping for the sagging remnants of a fire escape. The rusty new perch creaks and groans warningly at the feline's weight, but she grins anyway as she catches a glimpse of Tommy comes to intercept the rock boy. Good.

Her gaze is drawn to the other fighter with the bird's eye view and her ears flatten against her skull in anger...just as the rusty bolts holding the fire escape to the bulding's wall pull loose with a dull, metallic pop. The old structure dips, holding on for a moment longer, then gives up the ghost. With a split-second to react, Catseye leaps for the nearest foothold -- namely Julian -- and holds on with all four limbs and her tail as the fire escape crashes in on itself and plummets toward the alley.

Whoops.

The purple panther-cougar-bigASSCAT thing leaps up as he simultaneously feels a shove changing his momentum and ends up colliding into one of the walls holding up the alley. It takes him a few moments to shake off the daze from his brain before registering the culprits. Where the hell did Speedo come from? And dude, the big green guy behind him.

He glares. "The cat is trying to eat my teammate, Ken and Barbie. And I might not like Goldie much, but attacking my teammates just ain't on. So why don'cha shut the hell up and get outta the way?" He starts toward one of the big alley dumpsters, intent on using one as a convenient projectile. Before he succeeds, the groan and wrench of metal is heard and he's caught right beneath the collapse.

"Would anyone mind telling me what's going on, and what Ang has to do with any of this?"

Billy floats up opposite Hellion, preparing to try and subdue him before Catseye leaps after him. New tactic, then.

A hand explodes in blue light, and a shield begins forming around Cassie and spreading outwards. The people on the street are pushed away from her, giving her time to recover.

"Now that we have everyone's attention -" A glare towards Julian and Santo. "Including you fools - can everyone under the goddamn age of 18 please stand the hell down?"

Yup, this would be Patriot undermining a somewhat incapacitated Julian - for his own good.

Julian was caught under the wreckage, but he was far from incapacitated. There was the sound of him chuckling echoing out from under the rubble. Eventually, it was drowned out as the sound of the metal wrenching and tearing grew louder.

Always one for a dramatic entrance, the remains of the fire escape exploded upwards and swirled around in a virtual storm, from which Julian floated up from the center of. He lifted Santo along with him, and was cradling Catseye in his arms. He looked at Eli, not even bothering to give him a glare. Instead, he just gave him a dismissive smirk.

"Tch, loser. You don't give the orders around here."

The metal began to tear itself loose, and was hurled at several members of the Young Avengers to be wrapped around them to hold them still. For their own good, of course.

Boys. Easily the most annoying creatures on the entire planet.

And if neither of the leaders is willing to stop by doing anything more than raising their voices, it's up to Billy. After all, the metal around him can't really stop him at all.

"I want everyone to stop fighting I want everyone to stop fighting I want everyone to stop fighting..."

Catseye is grateful for the catch, but gratitude doesn't extend to being idle while one's friends are still being beat on. But at least now she only moves to wound. Those four limbs? They all end in sharp points. Eighteen hooked talons, two attached to thumbs, pierce Julian's flesh and dig in deeply.

"Tell friends stop, darkheartboy," she growls. "Tell Elileaderboy same."

Her anger dissipates almost like magic, and she lowers her bow with a blink.

"Hard to explain," he squirms in the girl's grip again. Why on Earth did he have to have the hardest-to-explain-and-mostly-useless powers ever? "Put me down, and I'll turn it off. Eh?"

Before she could actually put him down, though, somebody's managed to shield her from the other fighters in the alleyway. After another moment, the whole scene errupts into absolute chaos. He thought, for a moment, that Julian and Santo had been buried, "Dammit. No." Ever the triumph, though, his friends were soon subject to the protection on Hellion's TK, and Tag again became concerned with himself.

"Would you put me down!?" He tapped his own shoulder, this time, growing impatient, "Tag!" Just like when his powers manifested, nobody would want to be anywhere near him.

She was about to put him down, after all he couldn't run away with a shield around her, but before she could the guy did that "tag" thing. Cassie felt the irresistible urge to get as far away from him as possible.

This resulted in her dropping him from a sizable height, and she quickly shrank down to normal size, going as far away from the boy as the shield would allow.

A dazed Santo finds himself lifted and hanging in mid-air next to Julian as the debris whips around them. His craggy brow lifts at the sight of that damn cat -whoa, make that cat woman now? impaling her claws into his friend.

Rockslide reaches a hand over as if to take her off Julian from the back of her furry neck, snarling- "Get the hell off h-"

But a pause and then he blinks.

"Ohh, cool kitty!" He coos and begins petting her on the ears. "Julian, can we take her home with us? She could be our Hellion mascot and she would SO whip Pryde's obnoxious dragon..." He babbles, petting her more enthusiastically.

Julian was in a bit too much pain to feel the love right now. Still, he hadn't lashed out at Catseye. He's half tempted to lash out at Santo, though, if he doesn't shut up soon.

"Let. Me. Go. Sharon," he managed to grit out. "I don't think Miss Frost would want us to fight each other."

The names he invokes only earns Julian a quizzical "Human, which planet are you on?" look from the cat, but at least everyone has calmed down, more or less. She even endures Santo's clumsy attempts at petting. She wraps one foreleg around Julian's neck so that she has a hold that doesn't do damage.

"Darkheartboy down now?"
