A monk. In Manhattan.

A twelve year old orphan mutant monk. In Manhattan. That may or may not be linked with the Young Avengers.

The hell?Julian was having a hard time trying to wrap his mind around this. And around the fact that he was apparently supposed to find the kid and bring him back to the school. At least, that's what he thought Miss ( Read more... )

Santo still has bits of paper hanging from his craggy lower lip as he makes his way toward the comm signal broadcasting from Hellion. The search for this Golden Child tree-huggin' monk kid had made him a little hungry after awhile, so he'd figured four or five pretzels from the sidewalk vendor a few blocks down couldn't hurt. But the call came so now he's barreling his way down the sidewalks and now...

Now his eyes are narrowing on the group of kids barely leaving an alley where the signal beacons, but he doesn't see Julian or Cessily among them. And that's his cue to pick up the speed until he's barreling right toward them!

Brian rounded the side of the nearest building just in time to see Santo literally barreling towards the group. He was surprised, a bit, but at least he could be assured that he was at the right place. Despite his feelings of uselessness in fights, he picked up the speed and ran towards the alley-way himself. "Santo! Hold up!" He would've like to approach more slowly, until he at least knew a bit more of what was going on. However, that didn't look like an option.

Things had settled. Had being the operative word. Now some bruiser was barreling towards them.

Goddammit, Julian! And they say MY people are out of control!

One blunt head arrow to the forehead coming right up.

"Hey!" Well it looked like Kate was taking care of the stone one so she'd deal with the other. One giant size hand reached down to pluck the guy off the ground.

The best thing about having dense granite skin is the near invulnerability that comes with it. The blunted arrow ricochets off Santo's forehead and the girl who sent it catches his attention enough now to slow his momentum.

"Nice try, little girl! Now see how a real man does it," he boasts and sends a volley of rock projectiles detaching from his knuckles straight toward her and and anyone else in the way.

Rock > air. So it's probably a good idea to get Ang out of the way of the big stony guy. Doesn't mean that Ang necessarily realizes it.

"Danny, go back! I have to stop them!" he cries, reaching for the wall that Danny just phased him through, and the alley beyond it.

Julian would have shouted for Santo to hold up, but he noticed the arrow that came out of nowhere, the appearance of Giant Lass, and Danny making off with the kid. Time to reassess things.

His top priority didn't change, though. "Meg!", he shouted over his comm, "Scout the area south of Washington Square Park. Look for a white haired kid with a small baldheaded kid in orange. Keep track of them but do not engage." And with that taken care of, these 'Young Avengers' were in desperate need of getting their asses kicked.

"Cess, back up Tag!" And while she would take care of that, Julian would assist Santo in dealing with Kate.

The good thing about fighting in an alleyway? Plenty of cover. She makes good use of it now, wincing just a little, listening to the projectiles connect.

Once it seems to be over, she's back out with another arrow notched and aiming. She also seems to have lost her mind completely since she's rushing the brute.

This arrow has a diamond chip tip, but she's aiming to wound.

Turning away from Eli? Not smart. He disappears again. Rock dude is getting throwing stars in a variety of joints. The idea is for him not to be able to move.

Hellion at least isn't doing anything yet, but the sweep to the back of his knees might stop any thoughts he has of yanking Kate from the ledge.

He's snickering to Kate, "Bring it, Sassafrass! Watch it bounce of- OWWW!" The second arrow found target in his upper thigh, rather close to a rather preciously sensitive area. It's not penetrating deeply, but a bit too close for comfort when it comes to his rockly bits.

He grits his teeth in discomfort, trying to work out the point of the arrow quickly. That project's abandoned as the volley of stars follows a few seconds later. A few thankfully catch on the tougher areas of skin on his body. The forearm he's thrown up as an inadequate shield ain't so lucky.

Santo roars to his teammates, "Guys, I could use some frickin' cover here!" Arm useless, fuck this hurts...

Tag had little to no clue concerning why he was suddenly not on the ground, but had simply been plucked from the ground mid-step. His limbs flailed, and he began to rattle off to himself in Spanish, looking around for the cause of this. What he found, and he wasn't sure how he'd missed it initially, was a giant girl. "Oh," he breathed out, more than taken aback by this point.

"Uh." There was no way that he could fight his way out of this one, really. His eyes scanned the ground for any of his more battle-ready comrades, but they were all being kept busy. "Um," well, he did know of one way to get their attention, maybe even clear up a bit of the mess. Maybe. Concentrating, he slapped his hand down on the grip that held him, "Tag!" Where his tags most often repelled people, this one was for attraction. He's like to see her keep a good grip on him with everyone clinging to her ankles.

Ok, this damn flatscan was getting annoying. Figured he'd try to attack from behind. Punk. He turned as he fell, and glared up at Eli.

The boy expected him to surrender.

Julian's response? A mere flick of his wrist to hurl Eli into a pile of garbage.

Another great thing about fighting in an alleyway is it makes attacks from above very easy, and from someone who can heal, falling six stories wasn't really much of an issue for him. He had got up on the rooftop from the next alley over, and sneaked down onto the fire escape and was watching from above until he found the perfect target.

He found it, the hot chick with the bow, he wouldn;t mind rolling around with her. He leapt off of the fire escape aiming right for Kate.
