Three women who inspire me
Since this is the international women's day today, I want to write about women who've inspired me in my life.
Linda Hamilton / Sarah Connor
Yeah, I know she's made up, but when I saw Terminator 2 as an impressionable, young girl, I was inspired by this woman. This though person who would face anything to save the world. And who could do pull-ups.
Amalie Skram
Not only was she a writer: she was a writer who spoke for the people, telling the stories of the poor. She showed me that stories can be sad and important.
Asma Mahfouz
This 26 year old woman has been called the face of the Egypt uprising this year. It takes incredible bravery to speak out publicly against a regime like Mubarak's and I am in awe of her courage and the courage of the Egyptian people.
