We have lately been plagued by a new danger / enemy called "Eskom" and have been struck by a disease called "load schedding"...
The essence is as follows:
- A number of idiots have been appointed for political reasons in key position without the knowledge skills or experience as a result of what is seen as affirmative action, we now have a lot of key decisions being made by a bunch of incompetent idiots... with actually only one thing in mind...."personal enrichment". And the reality that a blindman can not see beyond the darkness.
- A government who is even more focussed on themselves, various power struggles, personal enrichment and agendas, and infighting than the issues at hand and blind to the impact of their own stupidity...
The blind leading the blind!
- A shortage of 20% in our electricity supply, couple that with an 6% growth rate and 15% annual increase in demand and no apparent solution... Eskom reckons that they will only be able to deliver against demand by 2013, thus the reality that by 2011 we'll be submerged in darkness... Well at least 50% of the population will be by 2011! The solution less shackle the economy and halt growth...
- To crown it all Eskom has now asked for a 14% increase in rates, so we'll have to pay more for less
- If one thinks our 1) crime rate is out of control with no plan or solution and the police chief up on criminal charges, 2) we potential have a convicted criminal, corrupt to the core, 4 wives and who believes the solution to HIV Aids being to take a shower after you have raped a woman, Mugabe 2 on our hands 3) a spineless current President, 4) an alcoholic, insane minister of health, who believes the answer to HIV Aids lies in beetroot 5) Core infrastructure providers such as Telkom and Transnet bloody lucky not to be in the same boat as Eskom and may follow soon, 6) corruption at all levels (specifically in local, regional and national government) spiraling out of control, 7) poor quality and inadequate levels of education, 8) various socio-economic problems etc. etc.
Perhaps we have a country on the verge of collapse! Well the core infrastructure of an entire country seems to be on the verge of total collapse!!!
Am I a profit of doom of just a realist?
an out cry of frustration,
