A Visit to a Buddhist Monastery
My Father's day was very nice, highlighted by a 45-minute car ride to a local Buddhist monastery! We thought we would go up for lunch which is served on the weekends for $5 per person, but unfortunately the kitchen was undergoing renovation so lunch was not available (we ate at a local diner later, which was great!).
I liked walking around the lake on the site, where we saw some turtles and a dark snake trying to sun on a generally cloudy day. Lots of koi in the lake, too! And I saw a small slug suspended on a thread of slug slime, hanging like a caterpillar off of a tree! Never seen that before, although I guess I have heard of it (but not around here).
All in all, a very nice day!
