Wish her best luck! Most your students that study french do the same, especially for holidays(living in a family).

i lived in an english speaking theatre in the plateau warehouse theatres back before it became condo city...this was 94-95...right in the student ghetto...i can't speak hardly any french and learned little during my year there...didn't have...most people can speak english there, unless of course you are trying to make sence with a cop...broken up speak easy...parade of cops...montreal is know for a wild night life...but i think for true immersion one should find themself in france, but then comes a distinct dislike for the amerian from many of the french citizens...from my very little experience with them, France would be of valuable education (culturally) and the forced nature of having to learn French...mcgill is one our best schools overall for a myriad of studies...

So glad that she's broadening her horizons--and that she's being supported in her decisions. I wish her luck!

Kudos to all of you!
