we hug the same plank
Labor Day weekend feels like a long time ago now ;o; First, a few of us had a girly tea party in Princeton, NJ:
I made salmon and cucumber sandwiches and applesauce raisin cake, and there were other delicious foods like souffle, cookies, and tea ♥ It was a lovely time!
The next day, Kelsey, Koda, Stephanie, and I spent the day at Long Beach Island. For those of you who've never gone with me to the beach, here's my encampment:
I'm serious about sun protection XD This time, we dug a few really deep holes in the sand because we wanted to make tub; Kelsey and Koda did most of the digging, really those girls are part badger. Here's a picture taken of an excavation still in progress:
It ended up deeper than that! We lined the perimeter with sand bucket turrets, some of which had more personality than others:
When we were done for the day, we realized we couldn't just leave random deep holes on the beach-- an atv could tumble right in-- so we buried Stephanie in sand while we were filling one in. FROM MERMAID...
... TO THE GRUDGE *o*

This was my last hot weather beach trip of the year, but I look forward to going back sometime in fall so I can wear a big sweater and just sit on the sand! Actually, the Long Beach Island Chowderfest is this Sunday, so I may go back for that.
