Mockingbirds
A pair of mockingbirds made a nest in the tree next to the garage. Right now there's 2 fledged young hopping around the side yard. The parents are constantly going CHACK!! and screeching. They do this all day. If the young don't manage to get into the back yard they're safe from our guys, but the neighbor's cats are a different story. The parents are sufficiently nasty they've managed to drive one of the cats away completely. The other one slinks in to grab a quick snack then leaves, while being dive-bombed. A couple times I tried to put the fledglings in a tree to keep them off the ground, then I got dive-bombed. I make a very big target. They leave me alone when I'm watering the lawn, since they see me do that every day and are used to it.
