Dicotomy of Naps

How come when everyone else in the world takes a nap or siesta, they wake up revitalized or at the very least feeling a little bit better, but when i try to take a nap I end up feeling dizzy, sick to my stomach, and always considerably worse than I felt when I initially lay down?  It's like everyone else can do this thing that makes them feel better, but when I try to do it has the opposite effect.  It's by turns mysterious and annoying.
