I was listening to KFI this morning to try and get a little more news on the earthquake and tidal wave, and I heard Rush Limbaugh saying that "the enviromentalists" will find a way to blame this on global warming (of course, one could counter by saying 'the religious nuts" will find a way to take this as a sign of God's wrath)
In any event, all one as to do is look at the historical records to see that this area of the world has suffered from devistating eathquakes and tidal waves for as long as humans have been there to write about it. It's called "The Pacific Ring of Fire" for a reason. We tend to lose track of this because human lives are just a blink compared to geological time. But we're also so anthrocentric that we find it hard to believe that something like this isn't a direct result of our actions, either from global warming or because we pissed off God.
But all I could think of watching the water wash away all those buildings and boats, is "how fleeting are the works of man!"
