Herbicide Homicide #2

OK, I actually called the city yesterday to find out what happened to the field behind the house.  Turns outt our suspicions were correct, and they apparently sprayed Round-Up (tm) weedkiller on the entire set of fields.  So now instead of a beautiful field of waving green grass, it is now a dessicated wasteland that looks like it was either hit ( Read more... )

Everyone who lives there should live-trap all the mice, rats, and gophers that come into their yards and send them to city hall. I feel sorry for all the animals. :(

And when the Santa Anas come and there's no vegetation to hold down the dessicated dirt? Guess nobody on the city council studied the dust-bowl era in school... or slept through the class.

Nature is such a pain in the ass to deal with.
Let's just kill everything.

So, Round-Up (tm) (a Monsanto product) weed-killer also kills grass?
How convenient!

The guy I spoke to told me that's what they used (shrugs).
For all I know they actually used Agent Orange.

oh yes!! Ask my neighbor a couple of years ago. He sprayed the whole lawn with Round up, and in under a week it was a total moonscape.

Herbicides aren't selective. Unfortunately, people think they are.
