No, he didn't get fired. The factory is closing because they were getting a bad reputation for failing to meet demands. They were getting lots of business but failed to produce enough. For when they were supposed to have 500, let's say, they ended up with 380. Instead of hiring more people, they tried just raising individual quotas, which didn't work, obviously. Sigh. I hope he finds something else really soon. He had already started looking for other stuff, thankfully.

Should I become a shift supervisor at work? I've been there nearly two years and I have to admit I do a good job. I would get paid at least a dollar more and hour. I would have lots more responsibilities though and I'm a little scared that I won't do well. My boss had asked me before but I didn't want to so someone else took the training instead. Now he asked me again and told me to think about it and I'm seriously considering it this time. He said he will have me as a "bench supervisor" which means that I will be trained but won't actually be a supervisor unless someone leaves. And now that I think about it, one of them is leaving in a couple months! Hmmm, I dunno still. He did say if I don't like it I don't have to continue. Should I give it a try?
