Phoebe wasn't really ready for this as the pain of saying goodbye to her sister was still too fresh. However, this was Veronica and she couldn't pretend that goodbye wouldn't happen.

Phoebe came in. "I'm declaring a moratorioum on departures. Since you haven't filled out the proper paperwork and filed it, you can't leave."

Okay, so it sounded lame, but it was obvious by the red-rimmed eyes that she didn't care about lameness of excuses today.

Phoebe hugged her tightly. "You're going to keep in touch, correct?" There might have been a plaintive tone in her voice.

"Definitely," Veronica promised. "We're going to hang out as often as we can."

She paused and leaned over to pick up a package. "I got you a little something, speaking of keeping an eye on people."

Phoebe opened the package and then she gave Veronica a grin. "I do believe this is the most practical gift I've ever gotten. Thank you." She sat it down and hugged her again. "I don't think I've ever told you how much I've learned from you... you've been like a second big sister here, and I'm really going to miss you."

She swallowed. "If you ever need anything..."
