Veronica woke up and looked around her nearly empty room. Most of her belongings had been shipped to Neptune in preparation for her trip to Paris before she headed off to Hearst. Cally had somehow decided that starting the day off with a teary goodbye was somehow a good plan. So she knocked on the door frame, and took a couple steps into the room.

Veronica poured Cally a cup of coffee and handed it to her. "I don't need anything," she said. "Just promise you'll keep in touch, okay?"

"No way I ain't gonna keep in touch," Cally said. "That only happens when folks run off with out sayin' goodbye, so I don't know how. And you're totally too awesome to do that."

"You can come and visit me any time you want," Veronica told Cally. "And I'm sure I'll be back here to visit."

Cally nodded, taking a sip of the coffee. "You can bet on me takin' advantage of that offer. Assuming I don't randomly get shipped out after my birthday in February."

Cally set down her coffee and just went to pull Veronica into a tight hug.

Veronica was sniffling too. "Hey," she said, pulling back. "I got you something to remember me by."

She picked up a package from the box on the floor near her feet.
