“You’re wrong, Spike. He’s adaptive.”
Buffy plopped on the couch, a bowl of popcorn in her hands. “What’s the big debate this time?”
“The Bit doesn’t seem to understand the expression ‘weak,’” Spike said.
“I do, too!”
Sighing, Buffy said, “Okay, tell me.”
“Spike thinks The Rock's weak.” She tipped her head toward the television. “I think his movies are fun. He can’t do what he used to do, so he’s doing what he can, and that doesn’t change the man he is now.”
Buffy and Spike’s gazes met and held. “I think I’m siding with Dawn on this one.”
“You’re wrong, Spike. He’s adaptive.”
