I was reading excerpts from this book I got for graduation and it said some things that I wanted to write down....
'We want it all, and we want it now. We're in a hurry to find the best friends in the world, the mate who will love us for the rest of our lives, and a great job where we'll spend 50 to 60 hours a week for the next 40 years. We look around at all the people who seem to have those things now and we think, Hey, why not me? We compare our situations with the best ones around and suddenly feel pressure to make changes.'
With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day -II Peter 3:8
'When we are forced to wait for an answer to prayer or a solution to a problem, whether we like it or not, we are more dependent on God's work in us. Testing and patience often reveal to us whether our faith was just a "house of cards" or whether the house was built on sand or solid rock (Matthew 7:24-26)
Waiting deepens our dependence on God.
Delay forces us to analyze what we really believe about God and His purposes for our lives
Disappointment is understandable, but don't give up on God
A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and happiness.
-Ecclesiastes 2:24-26
Missing everyone from back home........
"A cord of three strands is not easily broken" -Ecclesiastes 3:1 .....my stronghold
I never thought I'd be looking forward to returning to the 'burg, but I'm extremely happy to say I'll be driving home with my daddy in exactly 12 days :)
Thanks to everyone who still calls me to tell me about the goings on back home or just to chat with me...I love all of you a lot. I know I'm 3 hours away and in a practically whole different world, but I can never forget you guys or our times together. Can't wait to see you all.
