Historical Figure Geek Out
Does anyone know about how long it would take me to drive from Columbus, Ohio to St. Paul Minnesota? Or if I flew to St. Paul, what would be the best way to get to Mankato (about two hours away)? thistlerose, you might be the only one I know who knows the area at all...
I'm sure some of you are wondering why I suddenly need to go to Minnesota out of the blue. Well they're having a Laura Ingalls Wilder conference in Mankato this coming July. It's a three-day affair at the Minnesota State University with lots of panels and guest speakers and all that sort of loveliness. I'd be staying in the dorms and I can even add a trip to Walnut Grove and a visit to the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum there.
It's alarming to be planning on going myself - even staying in a room with a total stranger - but I'm *that* into this. I'm willing to make friends, if that's what it takes. Cost-wise, it's totally doable, as long as transportation doesn't get ridiculous.
So if anyone knows anything at all about that part of the country (or can think of a way to get there without minimal fuss), please let me know!
