so i guess there's a challenge to read 50 NEW books in one year.
i'm gonna go for it. on average it means i need to read at least 5.5 books a month. i've read three so far, so i've got some catching up to do. i won't count graphic novels unless the exceed a certain number of pages. i think the most books i've ever read in one year was probably when i was writing my thesis...so maybe around 20 or so? i guess that's a little sad. im more of a movie person i suppose, but this will be good for me. i can do this. i already have books piling up from the year and a half that i've lived here! such a bad habit; i love going to the library too and i often get over zealous and check out too many books at once and don't get around to reading them all before i have to return them.
The List:
1.
The Temple of the Golden Pavillion - Yukio Mishima
2.
Solaris - Stanislaw Lem
3.
A Drifting Life - Yoshiro Tatsumi
4.
Reflections In A Golden Eye - Carson McCullers
5.
MW - Osamu Tezuka
6.
Paying For It - Chester Brown
7.
Big Questions - Anders Nilsen
so far all three of these books have impacted me in some way. when i think about it, all the books that i've recently have left a mark on me in some way...that's good right? thus far my choices have not wasted my time. i really want to do a graphic novelization of Solaris. it's so quiet.
also, i am never going to get through LotR. not even listening to the audio book helped me pay attention!! bah! maybe i'll at least try the hobbit sometime.
