Kinda spontaneous Kat's leaving for 2 1/2 months maybe we should do a nice dinner menu so far - port glazed roast goose, peas sauteed with mushrooms, mashed potatoes, port gravy, sweet potatoes, cauliflower au gratin, bread, wild rice salad.

My great aunt used to make a recipe she got from my great grandmother from Sicily.  It was raw mackeral "cooked" ala ceviche, in vinegar and mint.  My great aunt absolutely refused to share any recipes with my mother, so we don't have it.  It's one of mom's favorite dishes for Christmas Eve and I'd like to make it for her this year, but I can't ( Read more... )

Thursday I spent alone in the Barn. Mom was working and I had to be at work on Friday. So, I got a day to lay about in bed and generally goof off. It was a good day.
