I'm alive!
I've made it out of hospital still in one piece :)
I'm so relieved it's over- I've far too many memories of general anaesthetics and their general unpleasantness. They went for a vein in my wrist this time, and then you feel a cold trickle spread up your arm, and then the next thing you know you're being woken and you have the worst hangover known to mankind. Silly thing was, I bit my lip while I was asleep, and of course you can't feel pain until afterwards... Now I'm doing okay, but the right side of my head feels rather raw. I suppose I now have a couple of weeks of blood and scabby mingingness coming out of my ear. Oh joy.
There were two delightful student nurses on my first day in, which was great, if I may be permitted to say it.
It's going to be a while before we know if the hearing has improved.
