Savannah

Well today I got home from my trip to Savannah, GA to visit my friend Chris. It was a blast. I flew out of Newark, which was kinda a pain. Unless I wanted to pay a fortune I had to park in the economy lot, which was a good 3 or so miles from the terminal. So then I had to cram on a bus with my suitcase, golf bag, and laptop bag, and of course you all know how clumbsy I am so you can imagine how that went. Then when I finally boarded the plane we had to sit on the runway for about a half hour.

So yeah it didn't start out too great. But when I arrived at the surprisingly nice Savannah airport it was all good from there. After meeting up with Chris at the airport and grabbing lunch, we headed to downtown Savannah for a tour of the town. Not on a bus or trollie, but a Segway! Definitely one of the most interesting tours I've been on. Finally, mankind has invented something even I can't fall off of! It was a lot of fun, got to see a lot of the town, including where Forrest Gump was filmed on the bench. So yeah we got to see some pretty sites, learn some stuff about the town's history, and of course, turn heads riding down the streets of Savannah on Segways! I would definitely recommend doing this someday, if you don't mind looking like a total dork lol. Then that night we went back downtown and did a little drinking. And in Savannah its legal to drink outside. So that was also a new experience for me haha.

Then Saturday we drove through the back roads of South Carolina to Hilton Head for a round of golf at the lovely Hilton Head National golf course. Probably one of the nicest courses I've ever played. I played an okay round but Chris... didn't. And now I know the look on my face when I hit a bad shot haha. Oh and we also saw a turtle and on the way back to Savannah a really nice post office.

Sunday we played more golf at the Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah. Then today I made my glorious return to north Jersey. So all in all it was a really nice relaxing vacation. Life is simpler down there and the people are definitely friendlier than in Jersey.

Well it's back to reality tomorrow when I go back to work. I should get some sleep. Goodnight!
