Piggybank UK...
It's depressing to realise, having listened to the radio all morning, that party politics has now reached this level...
Labour MP: Well obviously, we should be solving [pressing social problem] by making [random item or service] more expensive.
Tory MP: You're insane, that will never work. In our party, we believe that the only way to solve [pressing social problem] is by making [different item/service] more expensive.
Currently it just feels as if they all treat the UK as a huge piggybank that they've been sneakily taking pennies out of for the last few years, and now they're down to scratching around inside with a butter knife to craftily remove the last few pennies.
