Wow. The amazing lack of wedding preparations has left an echo in my life. Good thing there's a shit-load of post-wedding crap to fill void...
I just pulled my bouquet out of the fridge. I didn't know what to do with it after the wedding so I watered the green foam thing, wrapped it in a plastic bag and stuck it in the fridge. It looks amazing for being 2 weeks old. I pulled the ivy out of it. I'm going to try to cultivate it. My Wedding Ivy. :)
Jeff's been feeling poorly so I made chicken soup from scratch a few days ago. Damn, for a non-domesticated chick, I didn't do a half bad job! Got another pot sitting in the fridge now - need to chill the fat so that it comes off easier.
Wasted the weekend playing Final Fantasy X. Jeff & I have separate games and sort of play tag. One catches up with the other, goes a little further, saves, then hands the controller over to the other. Damn him; his Lulu has a cactus mog; I want one, too.
I spent a day cleaning out the cabinets in the kitchen, trying to make room for the new stuff: breadmaker, steamer, GForman grill, etc. Next step is going through the dishes cabinet to make room for the new dishes we bought ($200 in Target gift cards! We now own a complete set of matched dishes! Yay!)
So the next week or so will be more house cleaning, thank you notes, deciding how to renovate the bathroom and pricing it, looking into a business website for selling my craftwork and the work of a few friends... oh, and maybe a little job hunting. My unemployment stuff came it today so I'm covered there and seriously lucky: since I apply for work via resumes, I don't have to do the door to door thang.
I will also make some time to write up my thoughts on the wedding and a commentary on the honeymoon. Jeff & I had a wonderful time on our cruise and I truly recommend taking a cruise (we sailed with Carnival).
Thanks to everyone who made it to the wedding - it was great having you share the day with us. It was a wonderful day.
...ok, so there wasn't any cake smashing but the guys looked great in their kilts...
