(no subject)
So - I'm up in Wisconsin at the cabin with April and Laura, some friends I've known all my life. Literally, I've known April since preschool and Laura since kindergarten.
We came up for the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward, which was awesome. Some of the lumberjacks were ridiculously good looking. Plus they were amazingly skilled. We only went to the Friday and Saturday competitions, but it was amazing to watch the log rolling/axe throwing/etc. We even ran into a few of the guys at a bar afterward on Saturday night. It was awesome.
It's also kind-of a working week off for me. Since my parents went for cable/internet here at the cabin, I've been doing Gamertell work while I'm up here. I also brought the PS3, so we have a DVD/blu-ray/game player since the weather's supposed to be really shitty for a few days.
Actually, the weather was incredibly crappy Saturday. There was a 20 minute microburst storm here around noon that took down neighbor Al's tree (and pulled down the cable line to his cabin). Two trees fell down over the road into the Victory Heights peninsula here where the cabin is on. One of them someone got pulled aside right away. The other came down on the power line, pulling the line down, so someone just sawed through part of the tree as far from the sparking line as possible to clear a path for people to drive in and out. Since Stone Lake is out in a bit of the boonies, power didn't come back on until around 6:30ish?
Also - I beat Catherine yesterday. I got the True Lovers End with Katherine and managed to save all of the other sheep-men-dudes for the Everyday Hero trophy. I did it on Easy though, so that diminishes a bit of my honor and achievement, I guess.
