War Drum Words

Is wordplay more powerful than swordplay?
Can the wordsmith best the blacksmith?
Or does it no longer matter
When words clash to the beat of war drums
And our leaders dance a perpetual war dance?

Would that it stayed a war of words,
Just wordolatrous pundits wanking away,
But too many wordmongers are warmongers,
