Well, I think I've neglected this for quite long enough. Things around here have been extremely busy. Since you heard from me last I've been to Switzerland, London, had my mom here visiting, and worked about a million hours in between all the fun. Last Friday was my first day off at home in over a month.
Ian is off to Japan on Monday and I'm off a week after him. Hoping to work loads next week to help finance the trip, although we've done an impressive job of saving up and have racked up some very generous donations from various family members.
Needless to say, we're both really excited. Next alone in St Andrews will be a bit dull, but I'm sure I'll survive. We've decided to go the car rental route rather than mess about with trains (which are really expensive anyway) and waste time deciphering train maps and timetables. Main roads have signs in English and the best thing about a car means we have always got a place to leave our stuff.
In short, we are both well past the backpacking phase.
Well, I am sure there is more, but I need to get ready for work. Till then . . .
