Fic: It's Not Just Twenty-Twenty, by sobota (Sherlock BBC)

Feb 06, 2011 20:11

Cute ficlet in which Sherlock discovers that John wears corrective lenses, and he becomes curious with finding out how John looks in glasses. He gets his chance when he knocks at John's bedroom door one evening. As it turns out, he thinks John looks quite handsome in them.

Along the way, it's John rather than Sherlock who identifies that a corpse's ligature marks were caused by a skipping rope.

Excerpt:
The explanation was Sherlock-ian enough. John nods. "You'll just have to catch me wearing them, then."

"But then I might have to violate the no sneaking around clause."

"Or just pay more attention," John replies sharply.

"How dare you insinuate that I--"

"Don't pay enough attention to me?" John says sweetly. "You are perhaps the only person in the world who pays so much attention to their flatmate that you probably know more about me than my own mother."

"I must do," Sherlock replies. "Your mother doesn't know half the things I know about you."

"I'm going to ignore that slight against my mother because it's just the sort of person you are, and the fact that you're probably right." John reaches out to the coffee table to grab his pen; it was time for sudoku.
