Yeah, I wouldn't sub Greek yogurt in for mayo, although maybe if you mixed it just before eating it wouldn't be so bad. Greek yogurt will get watery if left to sit. But it does have kind of a dry feeling in the mouth anyway, so it really only works in certain dishes.

I'm trying to think what I'd sub for mayo, and I just don't know.

I always seem to learn these things by trial and error, LOL. I didn't know it would go all watery but I'll definitely never be doing that again, LOL. Even my Greek friend was like, "Dude, Greek yogurt is awful" when I told her my story.

I should probably try to find a recipe I can use the rest in because I'm sure as hell not going to eat it. I thought I'd add some fruit and be fine with that but I can't do it!

I'm pleased with myself for giving these things a go, though! I usually only ever eat the yogurt cups that are pre-flavoured and now I know why!

Hmm...I like Greek yogurt, and it's actually a fantastic substitute for sour cream, particularly if you're cooking with it. Greek yogurt has a similar flavor to sour cream, but won't break on the heat. I've also used a dollop in mac and cheese, as it adds a nice, creamy consistency and a bit of a tang.

Greek yogurt is like craft glue. So disgusting!!!

Be careful with the no carb thing. I know there are a lot of variations of it, and I have done it. As with any extreme diet, your body goes into WTF mode and as soon as
you go back to eating normally it'll store everything as fat. I lost weight quickly when I did Atkins. Went off, gained it all back, plus more. Then I tried MFP and restricted
calories. Same thing. Now I am just eating sensibly, working out, drinking tons of water, and the weight is coming off slowly and staying off.

It's not really a no carb thing or a "diet". I am allowed a type of rice and a couple slices of a funky bread (there's a brand here called Squirrly or something that I can have) a day, but I haven't bought a loaf because I go through phases with it where I want only sandwiches or toast and then nothing at all for months ( ... )

While I do like Greek Yoghurt I can't imagine it being as tasty as Mayo... but maybe because I see it more as a dessert? Like it it with honey or just plain after Dinner and it's wonderful

It makes me pull a face something awful. The texture is so smooth and thick but the actual taste on my tongue makes my mouth feel like a desert. I don't mind the mini-cups with fruit in the bottom but there's still some spoonfuls that taste like death. LOL

I know what you mean. I can only eat like a few spoons of it, too. :D

Greek yogurt is definitely not a substitute for mayo.

Greek yoghurt will always do that. You'll want to stir it up good before using to get it all incorporated again. If you discard it instead of stirring it back in, the remaining yoghurt is going to seem more dry. Although mind you if you don't much care for it anyway, that might not make much difference. I do like it, so to me it makes a difference.

Greek yoghurt instead of mayonnaise sound really weird to me, though. I use it primarily for breakfast or dessert. A spoonful of liquid honey stirred into it with some nuts on top is really lovely. Perhaps it might work if it was in a freshly made sandwich, but... it's not something I'd be tempted to try. I would go with cream cheese there instead really. Or pesto or hummus. Pesto is actually really good in a sandwich, I think ( ... )

For the next week and a half I can't have most of what you listed. No legumes, sugar or subs, nuts, grains, etc. Also, I think I really just don't like greek yogurt. I have enough of an issue with regular yogurt most of the time, too, LOL.
