this and that
• Pre-interview for the non-media job went well, I think. I had to take a couple tests to determine my work style is (preferred and actual) and for my ideal dream job work environment. My results for the first part were almost bang on with the profile for the position there. They also have a second job on the other side of their firm that I fit in with so I threw my hat in both rings. I'll know by the end of next week if I have an official interview.
I really don't want to get my hopes up because I think I'd be really good at this job but I'm sure there are other candidates who could be more qualified.
• I'm on the very short list of people for the media job but I was up front with the fact that I'm looking around at other options as well. My contact understood and was really cool about it. I won't hear more from him until the third week of September. He didn't have time to go TOO much into detail today but it sounds like there will be a project manager, of sorts, and that I might be in consideration for that but I may have misconstrued what he was saying. It sounded to me that if this is what I end up going forward with it'll be content uploading and sales and I'd be more of the point person than the other sales people? *shrugs* After my other meeting today I'm becoming less and less inclined to do sales.
• Got a bento box from the new sushi place downtown since I was there. Been craving sushi so I'll have to make plans to hit up my usual place to go hog wild on rolls but the bento box will tide me over for now.
• There's a food day at work tomorrow because the pub's assistant is leaving and I was going to make pineapple coconut thumbprint cookies. Once I started to gather the ingredients and actually LOOKED at the instructions I realized I had no desire to do anything that involved and instead decided to make coconut macaroons.
I failed. :\ I had to whip the egg whites by hand because our electric hand beater was in mom's car. That woman, I swear. Went through the same thing last year, too. My macaroons ended up either not cooking right or I didn't get the egg mixture thick enough, I don't know. So I'll be buying something. But I tried! I am becoming less and less baking-inclined.
