The food and drink expo thing went okay yesterday. GREAT turnout. A little TOO great for my liking. We got there at 5 when the doors were supposed to open but the place was already hopping. By the time mom and I left a couple hours later I was SOAKED with sweat, I was tripping a few balls from the crowd and I couldn't bear to stand in any more lines for anything else. Mom and I handed off our leftover "tokens" to D who arrived when we were leaving. I thought we'd get five or six things out of the sheet of tokens we got but some places were only "charging" one token per item, while others were doing five per. For someone like my mom who doesn't drink it was a little bit of a let down because at LEAST half the booths were liquor. We didn't even get to all the booths because of the lines. One place had a fucking DJ at theirs.
A DJ.
The fuck? And music was playing in the venue overall, so you can imagine how bearable that was. I'm just NOT a loud music person. I can't talk to someone if there's music blasting. I don't even like to play music with someone else in the car. Two sound systems going in a giant venue with at least a couple thousand people packed in there wasn't fun by the end of it.
Food? Good. Everything else? Too much without meds, LOL.
