ragnarok_08 asked about my Favorite childhood TV show?
That's a tough question because I was basically raised on TV. I grew up in a single-parent household as an only child so I had to make my own fun and a lot of the time that was playing board games by myself, or watching TV.
I had a 10" black and white TV that got three channels that carried me through until I was 11 or so when I inherited my great grandmother's old behemoth of a set.
I watched He-Man and She-Ra (and always wanted them to get together because I didn't know they were sibs until I was an adult. Clearly that bit of info sailed over 5-year-old me's head), The Littlest Hobo which was a Canadian show about a traveling German Shepard who found a situation that needed his help in every episode, across the country. Legit, here's the theme song:

I watched all the Saturday morning cartoons but I couldn't tell you what they were beyond, maybe Captain Planet? I think? I also watched America's Funniest Home Videos and whatever tv shows my mom recorded Saturday nights so she could watch them on Sunday when she was sober (ah, growing up in a household with an alcoholic!). Things like Nash... Texas? Ville? That one with Don Johnson? Walker, Texas Ranger, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman and so forth.
I remember when I was eight or so I asked to stay up a half hour later than my usual bedtime on Mondays to watch Melrose Place. This was before my mom knew what it was about and when she tuned in for an ep and found out she told me it was "too risque" so I asked to replace that with the Fresh Prince of Bel Aire, instead. She agreed but since I watched TV in my room I was able to keep watching MP. LOLOLOLOL
TV was such a big part of my life growing up that when my mom would punish me she'd take my TV away for a week or two at a time. Usually when I lied to her about not going to softball or something. Because I hated being competitive/sports/group stuff and loved TV.
Just laying the groundwork for the TV-aholic I am now, I suppose!
