All the random

I've given up on Minority Report. I hadn't watched last week's ep yet and I read today that the script order was trimmed from 13 to 10. I don't know why Fox doesn't just come out and say it's done; maybe they want people to watch the remaining eps?

Scorpion has been delightful this season. I started watching last season on a lark, thinking it wouldn't last and I wanted to sneer at it, ngl. It developed quite well over the season and it ended with me keeping it on my schedule but this season I've had SO MUCH FUN watching it! It's totally over the top and out there and I don't care. As long as they don't jump the shark too much, I'm staying on board.

Speaking of SO MUCH FUN--The Last Witch Hunter. Seriously, so much fun. SO much. I read an interview, I believe it was on the Hollywood Reporter, last week with Vin Diesel and he explained how this movie was filmed during the height and through his mourning of Paul Walker. He really used this movie and the experience as catharsis for everything. I've also been thinking about what I've learned about him being a D&D player and geeking out about Lord of the Rings with Elijah Wood and stuff like that.

These movies are often done by people looking for a paycheque, whether it be the actors or the directors or WHOEVER, and you can feel the lack of commitment to the subject matter or the dedication and respect for the source and the fans. Sometimes there are good intentions but the movie derails due to studio interference or editing or whatever but if it produces a shitty film, it's a shitty film, and it's a slap in the face to the fans of the genre/source material.

But Vin Diesel is a fan. He's a big 'ole geek and he committed to this movie and put his heart into it and that influenced my enjoyment as much as the actual movie.

Will it win awards? No. Was it a particularly GOOD movie? No. But did I gasp and laugh and leave the theatre with a grin on my face? Yes! The cast was awesome with Michael Caine, Elijah and Rose Leslie backing up Vin and they all played along admirably. I want Rose Leslie's hair, FYI and I love her accent. Like, I know it's just an english accent but it was a GOOD accent. And the movie was left open at the end for a potential sequel. I doubt one will happen but it would be an awesome thing to continue. Maybe a TV show!

I don't get why Blake Shelton is lusted after. Dude's a disgusting pig and he gives me the willies through the freaking TV. I don't understand why anyone would WANT to be on his team just because I'd feel the smarm threatening to suffocate me.

My halloween costume is taking shape. A co-worker came over on Friday to help me make the skirt and when I say help I mean she did it for me. I didn't even know if we owned an iron, LOL. So the skirt is done for my Max fro 2 Broke Girls costume and today I bought duct tape for the red accents on the uniform that will be easily removed because I might want to wear the skirt after halloween, and a red t-shirt for the apron that I'll figure out how to best make a moment that isn't right now.

We're also having a food day on Friday, naturally, and O asked if D and I were bringing cupcakes (she's supposed to be Caroline to my Max but she's going through some stuff right now and hasn't even gotten anything together for her costume so I don't know what's going to happen there) and I felt like slapping myself. Like, DUH! It's so obvious! So I found a recipe for salted triple caramel cupcakes. *Homer Simpson drool*

I moved desks today so now I have to get acclimated to my new workspace. I don't have the same room I had before but it's for the best because I really can't be left to my own devices. C brought up something else for me to focus on a couple Fridays ago and I'm going to talk to her about it more tomorrow because I've decided I think it'll be a better option for me right now. I don't want to say anything about it because I don't even know what's going on with it. I just hope it's soon. I feel very flounder-y in sales right now. :\

Finally, have you listened to "Hello" by Adele yet? I don't know how anyone could have missed it by now, but just in case, here it is. I don't find it as emotional as other people do but I LOVE it. The sound, the theme, the story. It's lovely and she's GORGEOUS in the video. Her album can't come soon enough!
