so jeff and i went to the mountains this weekend for our 3 year anniversary. the cabin was awesome. had a sloping pool table and an awesome jacuzzi that we put to use the last 2 nites we were there. we grilled on a charcoal grill for the first time and made awesome ribeyes. we're so proud of ourselves. but my chicken alfredo sucked. but jeff ate it anyways. he's gonna die of food poisoning soon i'm sure. but the cabin was so cute, i'm bound and determined to buy a place up there now. but it was like an hour west of asheville so you can imagine how far away we were, about 4 hours of a drive. we got pulled over about 5 minutes after we got off the mountain. i'm not entirely sure we were going as fast as the cop said, but i'm glad jeff was driving cuz i would've been freaking out and crying hysterically and he would've thought i was insane.
but it took 30 minutes just to get to the nearest town to get supplies. and the mailman for the town also works at the ABC store. that was funny. for the record, TGI Friday's mudslide is NASTY!! i know i cant hold my liquor very well and all but it was just like nasty dimetapp or something. so i tolerated a bit of strawberry daiquiri, not much though. i know i will never drink, its just gross.
it was nice not having any phones to worry about. we couldnt even get incoming calls. we had to get a phone card to make outgoing calls and jeff could use his phone if we went into town, but he hardly ever got any calls. until we just get off the moutain coming home, then he gets put in charge of a show so he has to call everyone and their brother right then and there and not pay attention to where we're going. i'm lucky i made it home in one piece. but it really made me realize how much i hate cell phones and just accentuates how much i want to move there. so i'll go to school for a couple years, get a degree in something, and make myself useful in some way or another up there. yes. that will work.
but it was great to get to come back to each other after how much stress we've both put up with at work. it was great to be able to fall asleep next to him every nite, make dinner like we really did live together, and wake up with each other every morning. of course we did get on each other's nerves, but that was to be expected. i'm a hard person to get along with if you spend too much time around me. but he made me realize every day how much i really love him. it was awesome.
ok, so sinfonia tomorrow, work this week, fix my car next week, find a new job. this will be oh-so-much fun. g'nite all.
